OIL!!!, Black Gold!!!, Texas Tea!!! Whatever you call it, they found it here in 1930, and not just a little of it, it was one of the largest oil reserves ever discovered in the contiguous United States. It’s also home to “The East Texas Oil Museum” . I lived here for 20 years before I ever took the time to take an oil field friend to the museum because he asked me to. I was not disappointed.
